Discover something new in Charlotte…Museums

In 1990, Charlotte was the 33rd largest metropolitan area in the United States.  Today, Charlotte ranks 18th on that same list.  The rapid growth in the Queen City has brought many new and exciting attractions to the area.  Museums are now a bigger part of the entertainment in Charlotte.  Here is a list of some the area attractions:

Charlotte Nature Museum – Affiliated with Discovery Place, the Charlotte Nature Museum features animals and plants of the Charlotte area including nature trails and a butterfly pavilion.  Located at 1658 Sterling Avenue, Charlotte, NC 28211 (704) 372-0471

Levine Museum of the New South – is an interactive museum housing the nation's most comprehensive interpretation of post-Civil War Southern history.  Located at 200 East Seventh Street, Charlotte, NC 28202

MInt Museum of Art – The first Art Museum in North Carolina the Mint Museum of Art has pieces that span over 4500 years.  Located at 2730 Randolph Road, Charlotte, NC 28207 (704) 337-2000

Mint Museum of Art Uptown The Mint Museum Uptown houses the internationally-renowned Mint Museum of Craft + Design, as well as outstanding collections of American, contemporary, and European art.  Located at 500 South Tryon Street, Charlotte, NC 28202 (704) 337-2000

Betchtler Museum of Modern Art - Offers art of the 20th century.  Located at 420 South Tryon Street, Charlotte, NC 28202 (704) 353-9200
